Today being Thursday, usually means time together with my quilting buddies. It was my turn to host. First my neighbour, Cindy arrives, she always calls me on the day I host and greets me with a big, "Hello!," followed by, "Is my parking spot available?" She rides over on her scooter and pulls up into the empty spot in the garage reserved for my husband, who has all ready headed off to work. The coffee is made and we sit for a few minutes catching up. My story was about the Bon Jovi concert I was at the night before, even with a few Bon Jovi moves! Then Eveline arrives and she listen in on the Bon Jovi highlights. We soon get into our quilting morning, Eveline and I working on our costumes for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory play and Cindy hand quilting her binding. Then the doorbell rings and it is Michelle! We haven't seen her in ages! A big hug for her and there is a lot of catching up to do. Deanna arrives next and then Susan. It was so wonderful to have so many of us together.
We all have found out Michelle is fighting Colon cancer. This was revealed to us in December soon after she found out. She told us what she is going through, radiation, chemo, trying to shrink the tumor, stage 3 were all words that she used. Right now she is done her treatments to shrink the tumor and then will have surgery. She has chosen to take the time leading up to her surgery to spend quilting and coming back to some Thursday quilt sessions. The strength in her words and her positive attitude towards this disease left us all feeling in awe of her. Thanks for coming today Michelle, we were all truly blessed to be in your presence.

Scarf
My finished scarf! One problem I experienced was from the ruffler foot I purchased for my Bernina (aurora 440), from ebay. It is not a Bernina ruffler. My needle broke 3 times.
Other than that I did find this project very easy and look forward to making more!

Wonderful friends
Friendships are formed many different ways. Our friendship was formed because of what we have in common, a desire to create whether it's through sewing, quilting, or knitting. It's hard to describe what this friendship is like, but I will try my best. Speaking from my heart, the friendships formed through quilting will be the nearest to my heart. It is with these women I have spoke my heart and exposed my soul. Somedays I can express the light hearted and other days may be the darkest. But I am never judged and I am always loved. We laugh, we speak the unthinkable and no subject is off limits. These friends will know more about me than anyone. How does this happen and what is it that brings us to expose ourselves when surrounded by women. For me, it is the heart of the quilter, kind, generous and loving. When you put this together a perfect friend is created. Thank you my friends for taking the time to be part of my quilting life, I am glad I found you.

Here I am
This is who I am. I have a small addiction and it's quilting. I have decided to blog and this is my first post, because I wish to share with you why I have fallen in love with this craft/art form. I will take you on a journey of what I see. My travels that lead me to my passion, my accomplishments and my friends. Enjoy.
